Well I have to admit that we haven't had nap time at the Christensen house for a number of years now, but I have been thrust back into it. Does Steeven want to nap, NO, does Steeven need to nap, YES, does Steeven get a nap everyday, NO.
So I will describe what nap time was like today for Mr. Steeven. I started at 1:30, so that is fair on my part right? I close the curtains cover him up and slowly he starts testing me. Rolls this way, then that way, then on his knees, then on his back, then to his stomach then covers are off then on, then pillow is up, down, sideways, have I lost you yet? All of this occurs while I patiently sing the song I have sung to him since his first night here, Jesus Loves Me. Did I stop singing to tell him to "lay still" or "stop doing that", NOOOOOOOOOOOO. I kept my cool and figured he would just give in, boy was I wrong. Finally I stopped singing as he began to kick the wall, not hard or out of anger, but just because he could you know.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I did take his pillow away. Then, after doing so, but still singing the song, a thought occurs to me, "He has never slept on a pillow so do you really think it matters to him that I took it away, probably not." Do I give it back to him, no way. I guess I am too stubborn and wanted to prove a point, yes to a 5 year old!
It is now 2:15 and he is sound asleep, has been for the last 15 minutes. What a strong little guy, I absolutely love him.
