The priceless moment came when the guy who was going to do the scan, whatever you call those people, saw Steeven and then on our walk back to the "room" he said, "He does have to sit completely still for this to work" to which I said, " I know". When we got to the room he asked me to lay Steeven on the table and "put his head in the foam thing". At that point the doubts starting coming to me. What will he think, how do I let him know it will be okay, what if he freaks out while he is in that "hole" and hits his head, and on and on? Lets just say that he did great and my very limited knowledge of the Creole language was sufficient, insert thanks to God here again.
Anyway, the results were good so our little guy just needs his tonsils and adenoids removed. We will wait to see what the eye drops do and if they don't work they will also probe, horrible word, his tear ducts during surgery and see if that helps the eye drainage.
I would just like to put this question out there: Is it considered bad parenting if you have to "gently" sit on your child to get the eye drops in his eyes? Just wondering.
I tihnk it's more like bad parenting if you neglect the eye drops all together! You have to use whatever means available sometimes...innovation is a mom's middle name. Love the blog, looking forward to keeping up with you all!! Misty
